Earthquake in Haiti — Relief Efforts
On January 12, a devastating earthquake rocked the island nation of Haiti. According to reports, the earthquake was the worst in the region in 200 years and has left about 3 million people in need of aid. The United Nations Secretary General has declared the devastation in Haiti to be a "humanitarian emergency".1 Many international aid organizations have been mobilized to provide needed supplies and healthcare to Haiti.2
