Leave a lasting legacy for the organizations you support
You may recommend up to ten charities by naming them as the "Charitable Remainder Beneficiaries" to receive grants from the Gift Fund after the death of the last beneficiary. The grants can be designated for a special purpose at each organization. The recommended charities can be changed at any time during your lifetime.
Upon the death of the last income beneficiary, the Gift Fund will transfer the value of the account to the Pooled Income Fund Charitable Beneficiary Account. Those assets may then be granted to the donor-recommended IRS-qualified public charities eligible to receive grants from the Gift Fund.
Receive income for life
The Pooled Income Fund pays a lifetime income stream quarterly (which is also taxable) to each beneficiary named — up to two, and donors can name themselves as beneficiaries.
Income can be distributed:
- Concurrently to both beneficiaries, or
- Consecutively to one beneficiary up to their death and then to the last beneficiary
Contributions are invested in a professionally managed pool of mutual funds. The income stream generated is variable based on the performance of the underlying investments in the Pooled Income Fund.
Income distributed is determined by the income from interest, dividends, and other ordinary realized income. Capital gains, short and long, and unrealized appreciation are reinvested for possible future income generation.
Let us do the paperwork
- A quarterly statement of the balance is sent to you, including any contribution activity.
- The Schedule K-1 tax form is provided to help beneficiaries report income received.
- A single tax form, IRS Form 8283, for filing purposes is provided for non-cash contributions.
