Build a charitable legacy
Whether the goal is to foster a family giving tradition or to continue providing support to charities beyond one's lifetime, the Gift Fund allows donors to name both individuals and charitable organizations as "successors." This includes an option for staged giving through the Endowed Giving Program. Any combination of successors can be named.
Individuals
By recommending one or more individual successors, donors can pass on the Giving Account to someone who will assume the opportunity to make contributions and the privilege of recommending grants. The successors can then pass the Giving Account to the next generation, creating a charitable legacy.
Charitable Organizations
Donors can recommend one or more of their favorite qualified charities as the successors to the Giving Account. Upon the donors' death, the designated organizations will receive the lump sum proceeds of the Giving Account.
Endowed Giving Program
If donors wish to have an ongoing giving plan take effect after their death, they can recommend that the Gift Fund make regular grants once or twice a year, for five years or more, to their favorite charities.
This can be useful for estate planning as the Gift Fund can accept contributions of trust assets for the program, which can help offset estate taxes while supporting important charitable causes.

1Minimum term for the Endowed Giving Program ("Program") is five years. Funded and invested appropriately, Giving Accounts could continue in perpetuity. Under the terms of the Program, the Gift Fund may expend as much of the Giving Account's income and principal as the Trustees deem appropriate. If the Giving Account balance drops below $5,000, the Gift Fund may distribute the balance, via lump-sum grants, to eligible charities, in the proportion recommended by the Account Holder.
